K-Code Fair | Review of SW Builders Challenge

1. Before

I knew this program through my university’s homepage. I was so excited that I could teach students about web programming. Until last semester, I was a student who needs to learn about web programming from the beginning. But for now, I was glad that I could teach someone based on what I learned and experienced last semester.

2. During

I sent my self-introduction to the host, and I was designated as a mentor. And then, The host of the program encouraged mentors to post our profile to promote ourselves to mentees. At that time, the title of my post was like below. I wanted to keep my word. And I wanted to keep my word.

“I’m gonna help and support you to complete your project without giving up.”

Mentees contacted me through the introduction page on the K-Code Fair. Mentors were able to manage just a maximum of two teams. Therefore, I was not able to teach all of the mentees that contacted me for matching. It felt so sorry about that.

After I selected two teams, I set the development environment to teach my mentee’s web development projects. Based on their proposal and plan, we went over the whole contents together. Also, Mentors communicated with each other using the SLACK.

3. After

To keep my word that I wrote down on my post, I led students to feel free to ask questions. Later, Whenever my mentees asked me questions without hesitating, rather I felt so thankful for their attitude.

I enjoyed it a lot while teaching students. Also, I also realized many things watching students who were trying to learn a new field of study enthusiastically. Sometimes, When my life is so busy, I used to forget my motivation which inspired me to apply for the university. But they reminded me of the fact that I was also so desperate to learn software fields.
